Just before Christmas last year, I left my job working on security strategy at Intel Corp. to chase a new adventure closer to my journalism roots.

This began with the January announcement that I joined SecurityWeek as Editor-at-Large to write op-ed columns on the business of cybersecurity.  A handful of pieces have already been posted, including a look at Microsoft’s $10 billion chest-thumping, the battle for the data lakes powering enterprise security programs, and acquisitions in the expanded xDR space.

It’s exciting to be reporting again, interviewing CISOs and hackers alike, filtering through the fluff to write the stories I’ve always wanted to read.  My focus will be on entrepreneurship, innovation and showcasing the work of hackers and researchers in the muddy security trenches.

Today, the journalism adventure continues with the official soft launch of this beautiful new site with an expansion of the Security Conversations podcast network, the weekly newsletter (subscribe here!), and advanced plans for a live YouTube show with some of my cybersecurity best friends.

I’m convinced that traditional page-views-chasing journalism has chased readers — and buyers — away in frustration.  The breathless coverage on yet-another ransomware hack or PII leaks has become monotonous and boring. The people buying technologies and building modern security programs crave honest, long-form journalism without all the noise.

I’m bullish on podcasting, video and live streaming and I’m betting that personalized niche journalism combined with long-form audio/video interviews will fill a major gap for cybersecurity decision makers.

Catch the show on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Amazon, and Spotify.   Grateful if you’d leave a review and rating if time permits.   Drop your email here to get the vendor-neutral newsletter in your inbox every Monday morning.

PS: My gratitude to Gina, Emidio and Samuel for their wonderful work designing the logo and site identity and being patient with all my stupid questions as we did all the backend podcast and newsletter integrations).

PPS: I welcome feedback. Don’t be shy ❤
